Breakfast Strata

Crusty French bread soaks up a velvety egg custard filled with tender spinach, melted Gruyere and smoky bacon for a crowd-pleasing meal.

Main Ingredients

French bread Eggs Bacon Gruyere Spinach Onion & garlic Heavy cream Milk Dijon mustard Parmesan Nutmeg Butter

Cook bacon, crumble and set aside. Add onion and garlic to pan and cook. Stir in bacon and spinach.

Whisk the eggs until well combined in a large mixing bowl and add milk, heavy cream, Dijon mustard, salt, pepper and nutmeg.

Layer the bread with the bacon mixture and Gruyere and Parmesan. Pour the egg mixture all over. Cover and refrigerate for at least an hour but preferably overnight. Bake.

Brunch just got a whole lot easier with this tasty, make-ahead bacon, gruyere and spinach strata. You'll love it!

This has become my all-purpose recipe since I first made it a few months ago. I make it for breakfast, then we have the leftovers again all day!
