Gingerbread Waffles

Waffles have never tasted so festive! Full of warm holiday spice, these gingerbread waffles with cardamom-vanilla butter are the perfect Christmas morning breakfast.


In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg yolks, orange zest, buttermilk, molasses, melted butter and vanilla extract.


Stir the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients just until combined. No need to overmix the batter here.


In another bowl, whip egg whites until stiff. Add to the batter and gently fold until the egg whites are incorporated.


Spray the waffle iron with cooking spray and cook according to the unit's directions. Serve with cardamom butter and warm maple syrup.
