SOFT BEER PRETZELS WITH CHEESE DIP

Buttery soft beer pretzels served with an Oktoberfest cheese dip make the perfect snack for celebrating Germany's famous fall festival or game day!

Soft Beer Pretzel Ingredients

Beer (Oktoberfest or amber) Water Yeast Sugar Salt Flour Butter Baking soda Egg yolk

Heat water and beer until 100-110 degrees. Pour into a bowl with sugar and salt. Sprinkle yeast on top and let sit until foamy.

1

Add flour and melted butter. Knead to make a smooth and elastic dough. You can use a stand mixer or knead by hand. Cover and allow to rise.

2

Divide the dough into eight even pieces. Roll each dough ball into a long rope and then shape the rope to form a pretzel shape.

3

Bring water and baking soda to a boil. Drop each pretzel into the baking soda solution and boil for 30 seconds. Remove with a slotted spoon or spatula.

4

Whisk together the egg yolk with water. Brush onto each pretzel. Sprinkle with salt. Bake in the oven until brown. Brush with melted butter.
