Let’s give summer a proper farewell while welcoming the fall’s rich flavors with this spiced peach bourbon smash with maple and ginger. Fresh, end-of-season peaches and bright mint come together with warming bourbon, maple syrup and a touch of cinnamon for a cocktail that celebrates the best of both seasons. This comforting cocktail is the drink you need to transition into a new time of year.

Every year, I struggle to let go of the summer. I love fall, but I always need a little help to accept that my patio nights are numbered.
Fortunately, a good cocktail goes a long way in improving my spirits. I’m a simpleton like that.
Besides this maple-infused peach bourbon smash's fun bi-seasonal vibes, this cocktail couldn't be simpler to make. While making simple syrup isn't hard, maple syrup works as our sweetener, so we don't even have to bother with that step. In just minutes, even the novice bartender can whip up this tasty smash cocktail.
Bonus: If you love this cocktail, you'll also adore my peach mint julep, blackberry bourbon smash and sweet tea mint julep!
Ingredients
Ready to start mixing? Great! Let’s gather our ingredients. Here’s everything we need to make this spiced peach bourbon smash.
- Fresh peaches
- Maple syrup
- Bourbon
- Fresh mint
- Cinnamon
- Lemon
- Ginger ale
Step-by-Step Instructions
And now to mix up our simple yet enticing maple-infused peach bourbon smash.
We begin by muddling fresh peaches slices with lemon, maple syrup and mint.
Once our peaches and lemon break down, we add our bourbon and a pinch of cinnamon with a handful of ice. We give it a good shake and then strain into ice-filled glasses. Top off with ginger ale and you’re done!
See? Easy as can be.
Essentially, a smash cocktail is muddled fruit, herbs and sweetener with your favorite liquor. If you follow this process and proportions, you can make your own version of a smash cocktail anytime. Feel free to get creative with different flavors and sweeteners, such strawberries, basil, honey, flavored simple syrups and the like.
Perfect Pairing
If you have a sweet tooth, these butterscotch-coconut-bourbon cookies are the perfect match. When these flavors all come together, I’m reminded of a boozy peach cobbler. Who can’t get behind a pairing like that?
For the times you need a savory option, I made this roasted apple cider spatchcock chicken for Recipes Worth Repeating last year, and you’ll love it with this summer-meets-fall cocktail. All those warm spices add depth to the sweet maple and caramel-like notes in the bourbon.
If you struggle with the summer-to-fall-transition like I do, I hope you try this spiced peach bourbon smash with maple and ginger.
Cheers!
